Sportsbook Report: Portland Pilots (-3.5) vs. LMU Lions

By Wally Jeter

Still in shock over the Pilots spanking at the hands of San Francisco last Saturday. Sometimes things don't make sense and you just have to push forward. That's what dedicated gamblers do at least. Saw that the Pilots were 3.5 point favorites for tonight's game. It looks both LMU's Evan Payne (benched due to violation of team rules) and Bryce Pressley (concussion) will be returning to their respective teams tonight. LMU still looking for their first WCC win (0-5 in WCC play) under new coach Mike Dunlap. The Pilots are currently ranked #131 and LMU is ranked #285 in the kenpom rankings.

The real underlying tension to this game will be the Pilot's looking for revenge against LMU who showed them an early exit in the WCC tournament last year. The Pilots swept the regular season games against the Lions last year but the Lions ended their season with the only game that really mattered. This year sadly for LMU, unless Anthony Ireland comes out of the crowd in street clothes they're not winning tonight. Look for the Pilots to have a bounce back win after getting embarrassed by San Francisco last Saturday. The Lions will still be looking for their first WCC win after tonight.

Pilots Courtside bet: Pilots -3.5

(Season record on Courtside Bets 6-6-1)    (3-1-1 on my WCC picks)
