-A few notes from the Pilots opening exhibition game against Concordia-Irvine:
This game was close
The Pilots may have won by 9 points but the ending score was not indicative of the game. This game was close from start to finish. And Concordia had to foul at the end of the game to stop the clock (Mostly fouling Wintering who was 15 of 17 from the free throw line). But the Pilots definitely had to earn this one. It's nice to be tested early and come out with the win but it's not exactly flattering to have to do it against an NAIA team. No offense Warner Pacific.
Eric Reveno is Skinny now
The temper is still there but Reveno is very noticeably lighter. Must be fallout from his marathon training.
Volodymyr Gerun is going to be the 5th starter
Gerun got the start last night, apparently he has beat out Riley Barker for the last starting post position. Gerun is also looking fit this year. He must be on the same diet plan as Reveno because also dropped some pounds. His arms are also looking pretty jacked, as long as he can pass a drug test, he looks like he will be competing for the most improved Pilot this season.
Gabe Taylor is ready to play
Taylor was the first Freshman off the bench Saturday night and he looked comfortable at the next level (albeit against an NAIA). Good post up moves and he's been well groomed by ex-assistant coach Joel Sobotka at Valley Catholic High School in Beaverton. And he's 6'8''.
Kevin Bailey is back to being Kevin Bailey
Yep, he's back and he's healthy. And every time he gets the ball in a 1-on-1 position, he's probably going to jack it up.
Alec Wintering's new haircut is super fresh
Well manicured this season.
No boxscore available but here are some pictures and stats from portlandpilots.com:

Bryce Pressley: 15 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asts, 5 stls
