Where are they now: David Ahern?

By Wally Jeter

Last year, the only solace I found in getting blown out by better teams was knowing that there might be an appearance of David Ahern. He usually was at the end of the bench, but he was always good for a couple Ahern A-Bombs near the end of the game. He always played hard, knowing that garbage time was his time. He only played 8 games for the Pilots in the 2012-2013 season and only had 6 field goals attempted. But I will still tell my grandchildren one day about the 4 points he scored against Gonzaga in the January 17, 2013 blow out at the Chiles Center. That day, for 6 minutes he was a Division 1 basketball god. I salute you David Ahern.

Where did he go?
After last season, Ahern transferred to Sonoma State University seeking more playing time (I assume?!?). And he has found it playing 26.6 minutes per game, along with 6.4 ppg. He was eligible to play immediately since SSU is a DII school. Season high of 11 points vs Chico State. Get some Ahern!

For those of you that might not have been able to tell with your eyes, Ahern came out of Marin Catholic High School with some athletic ability. Check out the first clip of his highlight video where he throws down so hard that he falls on his ass!
