Sportsbook Report: Pilots (+4.5) vs. BYU Cougars

By Wally Jeter

So now I’ve lost 2 out of my last 3 picks. Have I lost my touch? Did I ever really have a touch or did I just get lucky? All good questions that will be answered Thursday night. The Pilots are getting 4.5 points at home against BYU (according to Sportsbook.com). Last year BYU beat us down at home (by 18) and on the road (by 14) and they are currently on a 5 game win streak in the conference. Pilots split their road trip last week but seem to have a little more spark at home.

I’m going to roll the dice on BYU, they haven’t played that great on the road this year but they dominated us last year and Tyler Haws (22.2 ppg) seems to be in the zone lately. Haws may not be Jimmer and he may not be Jared Stohl, but the guy can shoot. He can shoot the basketball well.

Pilots Courtside Bet: BYU -4.5

(Season record on Courtside Bets 5-2)

Tyler Haws is a Junior guard (6th in the nation in scoring), who returned to the team last year after a two year Mormon mission in the Philippines. But if you ask me he doesn’t give an S about Joseph Smith or any golden plates, this dude was just waiting for Jimmer to leave so he could get more shots.
